As summer wanes, goldenrod plants usher in the fall. I've always loved their color and the insects love to party on the little pollen-laden flowers. Ah, September has arrived.
We had a VERY late spring and summer this year and I have been complaining lately about how I'm NOT ready for the cooler weather yet, but then I come to your sites and you show me all the beauty of fall, I guess the cooler weather has its good points too. *hugs*
So beautiful Kate - I love it too. And it doesn't cause allergies, despite what people think. Thanks for asking about my camera - I called today and though the Post Office confirms they have delivered it, it is not in their system yet.. By Thursday the guy said. boo hoo :)
My name is Kate. I live in Maryland with a border collie named George in an old manor house that predates the Revolutionary War. I began this blog in 2007 to share my photography with my family and friends. Welcome.

Ooo, love this! I always find it hard to get a good pic of goldenrod, but yours is perfect -- such wonderful color, dof and composition!
We have so much goldenrod around here! It just adds a glow to the road ditches everywhere. Very bright and lovely photo!
Such a lovely little insect. :-)

I love fall and this cool weather. Here in IL it has been unusually chilly.
I just hope it warms up for my daughters outdoor wedding in 2 weeks!
