Don't hate me because I'm beautiful

Photobucket
So there I was outside taking pictures of a praying mantis, and it turns and looks at me and says, well I put in the post title what it said. It had a British accent, too. Go figure!!

eeeewwwwwwwwww! Scary, but cool pic. I used to think these guys were neat until one day I too was watering a plant and one looked right at me, it gave me the creeps but I didn't think anything of it till it then jumped in my face. It felt aggressive and I have been freaked out ever since:(

It IS beautiful (in a spooky sort of way). Your camera lens lets me get a lot closer to one than I'd ever want to be in real life! :)

Ooooh that's such an awesome shot! I can hear him saying it too. I used to love catching preying mantis' when I was a kid, but I haven't seen any in years. I must not live in the right environment. Perfect pic Kate, really.

The ARE beautiful! I'm not sure I like butterflies and dragonflies better than these insects. When they give you "a look" it's almost as if they are higher beings. I love them.

And SPECTACULAR shot of it.

I love this photo, too. When he turned his head after he heard the shutter clicking and he looked at me, I really was just in awe.

Fascinating. I went to a seminar on color photography and one of the photogs that spoke mainly shot bugs and amphibians. I was surprised at how impressed I was. I definitely have a new found respect for the genre.

Oh, my.....this has got to be one of the coolest photos I've ever seen! I've never laid eyes on a praying mantis.....I don't know if they exist in Iowa. Good for you for getting this shot!
