Hiding Place
Lily of the Valley. Taken last weekend.
Now I can't stop singing the Sarah Harmer song, "Hiding Place". I'm always getting songs stuck in my head.
Darling, can I touch your face?
And let your skin be my hiding place.
I promise I won't take up
too much room.

How cool is that?! I never realized that Lilies of the Valley had seedpods (hips?). Now I will have to go look at mine...
this is a beautiful photo -- such great DOF that adds to the sense of mystery!
I don't think I've ever seen the seeds (seeds, or seed pods, right?) of Lily of the Valley. I had no idea they were orange. Excellent photo.
When I googled them, I wrote berries on lily of the valley and lots of sites came up. It surprised me, too. I'd never seen berries on these plants. The seeds inside can be stored and replanted, but lily of the valley really doesn't need any help in spreading now, does it? It will take over if you let it.
But still. It's a lovely little plant.

Speechless. Really. Speechless.
First time here. A newbie really. Found you from Chronicles of a working mom. So glad. Will be checking in on a regular basis.
Welcome, Heidi. Thanks so much. It means a lot to me.

What a great shot. I too had never seen the seeds, but they almost look cute in your picture.
*hugs*
