Come blow your horn

Photobucket

Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn,
The sheep's in the meadow,
The cow's in the corn.
Where is the boy who looks after the sheep?
He's under the haystack fast asleep.

When I was a young mother, I read to my boys every night and sang them a medly of songs that included this melody.

The best thing you can spend on your children? Your time.

I love how they are all lined up, and all doing something slightly different. I love the hill. Pretty softness to it, too. Really nice, Kate! :)

Sheep are so cute. Our neighbor has some in her field and yesterday when I went to check on the horses they were running down the hill. About 1 to 2 minutes later I heard one just a bleating. I looked up and a little baby was running down the hill as fast as it's legs could take it. I could just make out the "Wait for me!"

I love singing nursery rhymes to my kids. But I found out a few years ago that my grandmother used to change the words so I've had to get a couple books and see which ones I know the right way.

Your time. You are so right. They would MUCH rather have us reading to them or playing games with them than playing video games.

Cute picture.

Dear country girl, I like your blog very much. What is the breed of these sheep? They are similar to Suffolks except for the black bellies.
