Blowin' in the wind
I'm not sure what kind of perennial these clumps of grasses are, but they recently started shooting up these pretty little lavender-colored flowers. I tried looking them up online, but couldn't find anything. Anyone know what sort of plant this is?
Oh, and it really wasn't blowing. It just looks that way.

The only thing I've seen that remote resembles this is a spring flower. I'm clueless. Please do tell if you find out. It's wonderful.
It looks like Liriope, a "border grass", we use a lot in TX for landscaping.

p.s. I LOVE your photos!
Could it be a type of Smartweed? In my Peterson Field Guide there is a "Pennsylvania Smartweed"! You are in PA, right??
I wish I knew what it was because it is lovely. Great shot. It does look like it's blowing.
*hugs*
Morning, Louise!
Jeannelle, I love your little cow profile pic.
Good to see you, Shimmy.
And to Ann, thanks beaucoup. It IS Liriope! It was so easy to click on the link and see exactly the grass I have here. My sister in law was out a couple of weeks ago and she couldn't remember the name of it. We meant to ask her hubby, but forgot. THANKS!

Kate, that is so neat! How did you get the "feeling" of movement? Is it just DOF? I love it!
I love it - looks a bit like grape hyacinths, doesn't it? They aren't regarded as hardy in my zone though, so I haven't ever planted any. Maybe I should stick my neck out and live dangerously...
Yeah, Dlyn. Live dangerously! They're a compact grass, used for borders, I think.
Mary, it's partly Depth of Field and partly the way the leaves are lying straight across like that. Sort of like an optical illusion, I guess.
