Wineberries
At my new home, blackberry bushes are all around, if I remember correctly. But hopefully, we'll also have some of these. Have you tried them? They're a different taste and I love these berries.
What's that? You didn't know that I've moved from Maryland? Looks like you've got some checking up to do. If you're so inclined.

I'm not sure I've ever seen those around here... I love how the immature fruit looks, almost like little rose buds with those spiky calyxes surrounding them.
I just took some blackberry pics yesterday, but none as beautiful as this!

Those are so pretty Kate - and I don't think we have any here at all. Lots of wild raspberries and blackberries though. Can't wait to see some photos from the new place.
I don't think I've ever had wineberries, but they make for a beautiful photo. Such unique little spiky buds. Thanks for showing us. I hope that you are started to get settled in.
Take care of yourself.
Your new blog here is beautiful! You're photographically ambitious!
I've never heard of wineberries.....your photo of them is fabulous!
Wow! You sure do have amazing photos on your blog.
Hmmmm....I stumbled upon a whole hillside of these at a picnic area in Susquehana State Park. I assumed they were raspberries. I took a couple of quarts or more home with me, and they made amazing jam. Thanks for giving them a name. I hadn't a clue. I miss living in your part of the world so much!
