Love the green in this shot Kate, thanks for sharing.

That green is so vivid that it borders on lime. I love the sense of the cloud hovering up above you as you shoot the photo. The clouds seem to go on forever here - over the next hill ... and the next ...

Wow - what a view! I've had a crazy busy week. Not much time for posting on my blog or visiting friend's blogs. But I always take a few minutes to check your Photo A Day to see what's in store. You never cease to disappoint me, Kate. This is stunning! Love the greens and soft blue sky. Looks like a picture perfect summer day. Enjoy!

I thought......Jim Thorpe?? Is that the name of a town? Dug out my atlas and looked it up......yup, there it was!! Cool! Learned something new today, thanks to you!

I know I've been there! It's a town across the river and it looks quite European. Tried to find a hotel there but had to go further as there were no vacancies. It was so many years ago, it could have been there were no hotels. All I remember is it was beautiful.

Beautiful photo! I have pictures on my blog of Jim Thorpes home (lived and I believe born here in Oklahoma). We visited his little home which has now been turned into a museum... sorry... got off the subject.. The picture is lovely!

Kate, you certainly can link anything you want about Jim Thorpe's home that you want. I pretty much took most all of the information from brochures and stuff that we picked up at the house and what the woman who gave us the guided tour told us. I'm sure if you want, I can try and find the printouts etc... and scan them for you and send them on to you, if you want any of the things we picked up there. Let me know if you want those too.

Like I said, most everything that I wrote came from the directly from the brochures or from what she actually told and showed us. I believe this home is the home of his first wife (if I remember correctly). I'll try and find the brochures to be positive, but we remember this being the home from his first wife. The death of his son (according to his woman) is what caused a lot of tension and sterss and is why she said it contributed to the divorce.

Let me know, if you want copies of what I have from there...

Wasn't he amazing? And what a shame what all happened to him...
