Morning on the hill

Morning on the hill
Taken yesterday morning by my husband while I was still asleep. He used the 70-300mm lens and the gorillapod (our little bendable tripod). Florabella's 'sunlight' action applied at about 70% which added a little warmth.

Diamonds on the tops of the trees

Diamonds on the tops of the trees
The bare branches of the trees glisten with ice as the sun shines down.
We've had two major snowstorms here in Maryland within the past week. I think it's beautiful.
les brumes texture/111 applied. Have you seen these? They are really cool and available to have fun with.

Evening in Paradise

Evening in Paradise
Taken out in the yard on New Year's Eve. Processed with Florabella's Vintage Wine action. I am searching for a copyright logo that I really like and this is the newest.

Snowy night

Snowy night

The night before we had the bad weather this week, the skies were this lovely shade of blue/gray. Then I found this SkeletalMess texture over at Shadowhouse Creations [link] and suddenly, I knew what photo I wanted to use it on. This one. And I just think it looks cool.

Along the waterline

Erosion
Taken in January at Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge, outside of Rock Hall Maryland. The shoreline erosion is amazing here along the Chesapeake Bay.
I know it's a little dark, but it's just something different. SkeletalMess' Old Film TTVtexture is available [here] at Shadowhouse Creations.

September landscape

Late September
I shot this out the car window last September. This September, I applied some textures to it because I wanted to make it look more dramatic. It was very boring before.

Fields of gold

Fields of gold
I took this last fall at Bombay Hook Nature Preserve. I've always liked the colors in this photo.
Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down

Singular

Singular
I found this ordinary photo, taken from the window of the car last year, and made it look very different. First, I ran TRA's Troy action @ 64%, then Oh, Snap @ around 50%. Two textures were then applied, one from my blogging friend, Dlyn, and the other was a free one from Michelle Black. I just liked how it came out.

Big sky and old fence

Big sky and old fence
The sun came out briefly this afternoon, enough for me to do a load of wash and hang it on the line. Or so I thought. It began raining again, but that's ok. I worked all day on a photo video that I posted on my other blog. I hope you'll thank me for posting something else here so you don't have to drool over the photo below. Apologies to those who are dieting. Have a beautiful day, all.

Morning comes to Mathews

Morning comes to Mathews
Taken on the Queen's Creek, Mathews County, VA. I used [Coffeeshop's Teeny Tiny World] on it. I don't know why. I just do things sometimes.

All Volkswagens go to Heaven

All Volkswagens go to Heaven

If they live here, at least. On Queeen's Creek, Mathews County, VA lies a veritable Volkswagen Graveyard. Groovy, man.

Inside the Conservancy

Inside the Conservancy
I took this in the Spring during my visit to Longwood Gardens, about an hour north of here. It's a good place to soothe your soul.
Coffeeshop's Teeny Tiny World action applied. If you've got Photoshop, you can pick it up free [here]. Scroll down once you get there. The html is a bit off and the posts are far down the page. (Like I have room to talk. I am the QUEEN of "I don't know nuthin' about birthin' no babies . . . er, I mean about html code.)

Marmalade skies

Marmalade skies

We had a big-ass storm hit our area late this afternoon just as I left work. I'd been warned about its arrival, but left anyway, thinking it was still north and to the west of us but and ended up driving right through some of it. As hail rained down on my car and the wipers went beserk, I had no idea how beautiful the skies would look later this day at sunset.
This is not a painting. This is not the work of Photoshop. This is my sky. Unfortunately, there aren't any tangerine trees to be found.

I love sunsets

Sunset at the cabin
I took this last weekend from the deck of the cabin we rented in Virginia. We stayed there three nights and this was the only night we actually had a decent sunset. Yum.

Milepost 39

Milepost 39 on the Skyline Drive

Taken last Friday on the Skyline Drive in Virginia. When I think of all the work that went into building this magnificent roadway, I am just humbled.

Sunset off Teach's Hole

Sun setting off Teach's Hole
My husband took this photograph in November of 2006 with our old Sony Cybershot. We were staying on Ocracoke Island in North Carolina celebrating the year we both turned 50.
Ghostbones texture.

Skywatch Friday sunrise

Skywatch Friday: Widow's Walk

To give credit where credit is due, this is one of my husband's photos. He took it this morning during a glorious sunrise as I was leaving for work. This is the top of the house where we live. To get up there, one has to climb a ladder and then do some tricky footwork. Not for the feint of heart.

Hike to the Light

Turkey Point Light 2

This is a shot of Turkey Point Lighthouse at the very head of the Chesapeake Bay. It stands at the end of a peninsula and is just over a mile hike from the parking area. I ran PW's Seventies action on the photo and laid down a thin texture.

A walk in a winter field

Walk in a winter field

This was taken last month after an ice storm. It was frigid outside. I added a colored texture to the original photo and I just like how it looks.

Tree in Silhouette 2

Photobucket
I guess I could have used this for a Friday Skywatch post. Sometimes I forget about the photos I have in my files, but found this one tonight when I was working on uploading pictures I will be offering for sale on my Etsy site. It's very time-consuming setting up shop and it's why I posted a contest for the next couple of days on my Chronicles blog.
Go ahead over and enter.
In the meantime, I'm working on getting about 30 items on Etsy for sale, including this one.
