Sunflower unfurling

I love how this sunflower looks! Its new life, with its little tendrils reaching to the sun, just about to bloom.
It almost reminds me of my children, when they left for college.
Or something like that. Don't mind me. I'm just in a contemplative mood is all.

The sunshine of my life

The weather has been beautiful in Maryland for the past several days. It's sweet and soft and perfect and I know it won't last, but for now it makes me glad.

Solitary bloom

I was excited when the green shoots of daffodils began to push through the snow last month. But alas, we had no blooms. Not a single one. Until my husband pointed this one to me. And it makes me glad.
