O, Sycamore

O, Sycamore
Just breezing through my old photo files and found this under Holiday 2007. I love sycamores in the wintertime.
I used Florabella's vintage summer as well as Florabella's nostalgia texture on this shot and love the color of the sky.

Can I be really picky and say I think the tree is a London Plane. I thought that the other day when you showed the lovely photo of the fruits. Whatever it is they are great photos.

It's really a sycamore. Some call them Buttonwoods. But a sycamore it most certainly is. I lived with rows of them down the driveway for 10 years and in fact, the owner of the horse farm where we lived back then, had his farm named after them.

Beautiful image. There is a sycamore down the street. I haven't paid much attention to it besides its huge leaves all over the block. I'll take a closer look.

Obviously a USA / UK thing! In this country we call these London Planes (Platanus x hispanica syn. P. acerifolia) and the Sycamore in the UK is a different tree - Acer pseudoplatanus. I shall know in future!
