Our next holiday card

Snowing at the manor house
I almost began this post with an apology for all the snow pictures I've posted. (There are two slide shows at my other blog). And then I thought, I can do what I want. No need for apologies.
One commenter told me that I should use this as next year's holiday card after seeing a portion of it in the mosaic (post below). It was snowing like mad and the wind was blowing it onto my face, stinging my skin. George looks happy, though.
I used an action from Kevin Kubota that I've never even noticed in my set before. It's a creative effect called Kubota Light GlowSoft Highlights. It gives the background of the photo a slight gaussian blur, lending an almost-dreamy look.

Gads, now you've done it...this has to be one of my alltimefavoriteGeorge photos!!!!! A most perfect Christmas card of all time...

Also, there is something very special about George's placement in the shot. It's not like any border collie ever has to pay attention to a fence or gate since they will sail over and through anything if that's their will. But look where he is. At the gate. waiting. so telling.

Happy winter solstice, CG & George & Mr. CG!

I can see all the problems with the shot, things like the fence falling down, the old tree that needs to come down (the one with all the vines) but really, all that 'stuff' is what's here. It's an old estate and the grounds haven't been properly maintained for years. And in that snowstorm, walking up this little hill by the barn, I saw George standing right inside that gate. And as I lifted the camera to my eye, I thought "this place is beautiful". And then I thought, "I hope that little sucker stays still."

Thanks, all.
