Hike to the Light
This is a shot of Turkey Point Lighthouse at the very head of the Chesapeake Bay. It stands at the end of a peninsula and is just over a mile hike from the parking area. I ran PW's Seventies action on the photo and laid down a thin texture.

Love it with those geometric branches. Can't wait for some green.
Beautiful shot. I love the wave in the background that hasn't crested yet. Really this is an incredible action shot!
I was feeling all homesick for the ocean today. I was lying in bed imagining the sound of the waves, wind and gulls. This really ties into my emotions of the day.

Oh hey, Jessica. Sorry to disagree, but there isn't a wave! This lighthouse sits at the top of a ledge. It's pretty high. What you see in the distance is the water of the bay and land above it. This is the northern edge of the Chesapeake Bay which leads out to the Atlantic Ocean at the south end.
I love the processing in this -- perfect!
Beautiful picture!
Love this photo. I have a thing for lighthouses and I have never seen one in person...go figure. I believe the closest one to me would be in Oregon. Someday I hope to see one in person. Thank you for your wonderful photo...it will have to fill the void for now.
I love it, but then you know how I have a thing for Lighthouses.
Hope you had a GREAT weekend.
*hugs*
Nice shot! I love lighthouses!
This has to be my favorite picture ever...It looks like a painting. I'm partial to lighthouses but this is just beautiful. Sue.
There is something so romantic about a lighthouse that I always tend to capitalize it, Lighthouse...lovely shot. Congrats on Post of the Day mention at David's!
