I was feeling all homesick for the ocean today. I was lying in bed imagining the sound of the waves, wind and gulls. This really ties into my emotions of the day.

Oh hey, Jessica. Sorry to disagree, but there isn't a wave! This lighthouse sits at the top of a ledge. It's pretty high. What you see in the distance is the water of the bay and land above it. This is the northern edge of the Chesapeake Bay which leads out to the Atlantic Ocean at the south end.

Love this photo. I have a thing for lighthouses and I have never seen one in person...go figure. I believe the closest one to me would be in Oregon. Someday I hope to see one in person. Thank you for your wonderful photo...it will have to fill the void for now.
