Pumpkin without a country

Pumpkin in the afternoon light

This little fella is the last on the vine that I discovered growing from behind a bush in the front of our house. The rest are on our porch and there are six of them in all. I think they're quite decorative.
I have no idea where the title post came from. I am blaming it on the pain meds.

You grew your own pumpkins? How cool is that! I always think about doing the same but we just don't have anyplace to grow them. Maybe one year. In the mean time I hope your pumpkin finds a place to call home ; )

Rest up today!

So are you making pumpkin pie, drying out the seeds/roasting them?

Carving pumpkins is for strong. I've never been able to carve one, although we have an outstanding Pumpkinfest here in Chadds Ford, PA. I'll post photos later this month. Do you cook the meat? Do you carve your pumpkins?

Nice photo. Sorry you feel bad (pain meds). Hope you get better soon.

We've tried to grow them. They never seem to make any.

My vegetable garden was horrible this year (I blame most of it on the tomato virus that was going around), but I got 10 pumpkins from seeds that planted themselves on the compost pile. So next year I'm giving up on the rest of the veggies and growing nothing but pumpkins! How can you not love something so orange and pretty?
