Pitcher plant
I went to Longwood Gardens today with a friend and couldn't stop smiling for the entire visit. I felt almost giddy from all the beauty that I beheld. I need to go there much more often.

Early Spring sky
I used PW's seventies action and a cloud texture from Ghostbones on flickr. I just think it's fun. Have a great Sunday, all.

Mystery flower solved
I have no idea what the name of this flower is and this isn't a great photo anyway. But it's bright and colorful and it makes me smile.
And as soon as Lauren tells me what it is, I'll change its' name on Flickr.
Update: This is an angel geranium called Berkswell Carnival. Thanks, Lauren (aka Mental Pause Mama)!

Throw the frisbee, please
This is what George looks like when he's waiting for you to throw the frisbee. He will not take his eyes off you.
And what do you think of this black background? I tried it on a whim, never having used it before and I'm feeling a little like I'm in a cave here. Or maybe it's just me.

Pink umbrella
Wouldn't it be nice to have an umbrella that looked like this little lenten rose? I wouldn't even mind that it was pink. And I'd be happy when it rained.

White or pink? Only time will tell.
After all, I don't see why I am always asking for private, individual, selfish miracles when every year there are miracles like white dogwood.

Little viola
You know it's spring when the little violas are in bloom. What a cheerful face this little flower has.

The prize within ~ Macro Monday
The tiny buds on the lilac bush reveal a hint of what is to come. I'll keep you posted, k?
Got this link from a friend who participates in Macro Monday on Lisa's blog. Give it a visit for some cool photos!

Today I like pink
I'm not really a pink person. I rarely, if ever, wear the color but it doesn't mean I don't like it. I took this at the farm store last week and the tag said it was a Lenten rose. Mental P will correct this if it's wrong. She's great when it comes to plants. I posted something pink on my other blog today, too.

Little bug
I was out with the macro lens after work on this first day of spring. While taking this shot of a bud on one of the bushes out front, I surprised this little fly.
Frankly, I don't really think he even noticed I was there.

Photo contest at Kacey's blog
Kacey, over at Wine on the Keyboard, hosts a monthly photo contest at her place. The reward is the winning itself, after several days of voting by her readers. Last year, she posted all the monthly winners' photos and the grand winner of that contest was awarded something cool that was made by her photogenic husband, SuperGuy. I say he's photogenic because he just is.
This month's theme is "green"; hence this photo. And this isn't the photo I'm entering. I think. Deadline is the end of the month and is open to all, whether you consider yourself a photographer or are just in it for the fun, like me. Hope to see you there!

Hello, beautiful
These coral bells caught my eye while strolling through the garden center last weekend. Good thing I had my camera with me.

Begonia in vignette
I love how elegant these tuberous begonias are, don't you? Maybe I'll go back and buy a few. As it was, I was just stealing their photographs when I visited the farm store last weekend.
For those who are interested, I'm having a Giveaway on the other blog today. Head over and join in!

Making my own happiness
I took this macro photo of Leopard's bane at a farm market in Delaware this morning. It is just making me happy. Used one of Michelle Black's actions, Vintage Mod. Then I burned the edges just a tad. It's depressing outside.

Sunset off Teach's Hole
My husband took this photograph in November of 2006 with our old Sony Cybershot. We were staying on Ocracoke Island in North Carolina celebrating the year we both turned 50.

Happy days
I took a series of photos last year of the Canada geese and their offspring. I used one of them for my header on the Country Girl blog. And this one was just too cute not to share. Have a great Thursday, all.

Beckoning me
This little crocus is so sweet. I took it last year, only a couple of months after I'd gotten my new macro lens. I love its color.
I added a texture to it and posted it on my other blog today and I don't know which I like more. But I'm leaning towards this. Have a great day, all.

This bud's for you
I know it's cliche, but I've always wanted to say that. This was taken on Sunday as I walked around the yard looking at little shoots and things that are beginning to grow. This is a lilac, which I'm very happy to have growing here. It's a very old bush so I'm not sure as to how prolific the blooms will be.
I added SheisPrettyStock texture and called it a day. Hope you have a good one.

Little darling of mine
I found another surprise. These snowdrops were taken Sunday afternoon. What a spring-like weekend we've had in Maryland. It's enough to just make a person smile.
I used a texture from SheisPrettyStock.

Another from my files. This was taken last April, 2008. I used one of Joy St. Claire's textures, if I remember correctly. It was beautiful in Maryland today.

School cuploa
The cupola at our school. I took this today as I was walking down the long hallway in the new wing between the cafeteria and the library. I happened to have the school camera in my hand when I looked out the window and noticed the cupola. It looked like it would make a a good picture, so I snapped a few of them and e-mailed them to myself. I'm thinking of making it in an 8x8 standout for the Auction on April 4 but . . . well, I've donated three pieces already and I think maybe that's enough for now.

Manor House in Winter
A cold morning in March and this photo was taken by my husband. There's a fox den where the leaves are all scattered in the foreground of this photo. My husband's had his eye on it lately.
Ghostbones texture. Mary sent me the link. Thanks, Mary!

Little miss shy
Do you really think that I cannot see you peeking from behind the feeder? Well I can, you know. And you are very pretty.
Actually, this photo was taken using continuous shutter and she was caught in the blink of an eye.
Used snow texture from SheisPrettyStock at DeviantArt.

Go Baby Go
I took this shot last March from my back fence looking into one of the paddocks. The mares and foals were out enjoying the weather. Especially this frisky little one.
Applied Pioneer Woman's Soft & Faded along with a texture from Ghostbones.
