Marmalade skies
We had a big-ass storm hit our area late this afternoon just as I left work. I'd been warned about its arrival, but left anyway, thinking it was still north and to the west of us but and ended up driving right through some of it. As hail rained down on my car and the wipers went beserk, I had no idea how beautiful the skies would look later this day at sunset.
This is not a painting. This is not the work of Photoshop. This is my sky. Unfortunately, there aren't any tangerine trees to be found.

Fire in the sky - how cool.
Have you ever seen the green/yellow sky? That scares me the most...I used to see it quite a lot when I lived in Chicago burbs.
Beautiful sky. The clouds and color are amazing. I love how things look after a storm.
Have a great Wednesday,
Cindy
Magnificent! A storm is good for something, anyway.
I once had a dream with a sky that looked so similar to this in it. And then the hills became valleys and the valleys rippled...pretty amazing dream. A few weeks later, I stumbled upon Scripture that would have been a prelude to that dream (almost exactly) - if I had read it first...but I didn't and therefor; it made me wonder :)
Your sky reminds me....
Don't you just love it when your camera captures everything just as you see it? Untouched, o-natural...
Gorgeous!
Mother Nature frequently hands us something of beauty -- after doing her best to scare the heck out of us!
We had the same exact skies! Ladybug exclaimed, "The sky is orange!" and we all ran out to see it. I grabbed some photos too, but have not looked at them yet!
beautiful capture. we had amazing skies last night as the storm made its way north and east. going to post my shortly.
Wow. Way better than a pot of gold.
Wow, I mean WOW!!! We had one hit around 7:30AM. The sky got so dark, it seemed like night. My husband told me later that where he was there was a crack of lightning so loud that several car alarms went off.
Happy you made it home safely! That sky is incredible. :)
That is really really amazing. It looks fake, it's so good. Congratulations. It really is eye capturing.
The best thing about missing a few days of my blogging friends is catching up and you have been posting some wonderful shots... A sign of the times, for sure, standing in line for you diploma and getting a cell phone call.
Your bottle stopper... how fun. I'm sure you'll find some way to use it.
More, More, More. I love stopping by here.
Helen
