Walking on sunshine
If you do not raise your eyes you will think that you are the highest point.

Lives for frisbees
As I write this, he's asleep at my feet. But he played all day and this is one of his very favorite games.
Photo by husband. Processing and SheIsPretty Stock Texture added by me. And love. There's always that.

Fountainhead
I shot this inside a florist shop on Amsterdam Ave. in NYC last weekend. I wasn't going to post it but a comment from someone on my flickr photostream changed my mind.
The texture I used is Gold Amber Swirl Paper by EnchantedGirl stock on Deviant Art.

Esplanade at Riverside Park, NYC
Riverside Park is a scenic waterfront public park on the Upper West Side in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. It consists of a narrow four-mile strip of land between the Hudson River and the gently curving Riverside Drive. When the park was first laid out, access to the river was blocked by the right-of-way of the NY Central Railroad West Side Line. Later it was covered over with an esplande line with honey locust trees.

Mosaic: Random captures from New York City
I just thought this was a fun mosaic. Most of the shots are from a florist we visited in the Upper West Side. I think that's where I was. Cheers!

Weathervane
I liked this weathervane I saw in New York today. Taken off Amsterdam around 79th street somewhere. Beautiful day! I've got more photos on the other blog.

Pink pink pink
The azalea out front is completely finished blooming, but this one on the west side of the house is still going strong. And the color is a little darker than the other one out front.

The sunshine of my life
The weather has been beautiful in Maryland for the past several days. It's sweet and soft and perfect and I know it won't last, but for now it makes me glad.
Have a beautiful Thursday, all.

Gentle beast
A lovely horse is always an experience....
It is an emotional experience of the kind that is spoiled by words.
~Beryl Markham
There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.

Do you remember blowing wishes?
There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter,
the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.

I heart Sundays
It's 2 PM and I realized that I haven't posted on this site for several days. And it's supposed to be "A Picture A Day", isn't it? I am my own taskmaker, aren't I?
This is from a framed print I got at Kohl's. It's a real leaf, I think. I love how lacey it is. I applied a Joy St. Claire texture over it and added a layer mask, brushing off some of the texture from the leaf.
It was raining this morning so I was taking pictures of things I like inside. Hope your Sunday is a pleasant one!

Which brought us hither.

Naughty bird
A red-winged blackbird takes a little break from all its spring shenanigans. I don't know what he was up to, but everyone was all a-twitter.

Next, please
Another one from the files. Although it isn't the best quality, it has always made me smile.
I took this last April. I'd come home, parked in the driveway and noticed all these birds in a line along the fence. So I ran inside to get the camera, putting the zoom lens on and was surprised to see they were all still there. It was really windy that day and the walnut tree (it's to the right) was blocking the force.

Looking up
Not a very creative title post, I know. But I'm glad that the person who designed this column was creative. I love these architectural details.
Taken at the old school I visited on the tour a couple of weekends ago. Cheers, all!

Almost gone

Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

True colors
But I see your true colors
shining through
I see your true colors
and that's why I love you
so don't be afraid to let them
show your true colors
true colors are beautiful
like a rainbow
